If you’re like most women, you started worrying about losing weight after pregnancy as soon as you gained the first few pounds.

Now that your child is born and hopefully your days slowly are starting to return to normal, you can start thinking about ways to lose the excess weight.

But in order to meet your goals, you will need to take action.  If you’re unsure exactly how to start, we have provided you with some simple ideas to help you get started.

Stand up and move many brand-new mothers are too sleep-deprived and overwhelmed to even think of exercise. That’s completely ok since most women aren’t physically ready for intense exercise for at least 6 weeks after delivering, and possibly longer if they’ve had a cesarean section. Start by strolling around the block, if it feels great excellent and doesn’t trigger or aggravate bleeding, walk a little farther the next day.  Do this till your six-week examination, after which you should  prepare to do 20 to Thirty Minutes of cardio 3 to 5 times a week.  You do not even have to leave your neighborhood but you should know that pushing a stroller 1-2 miles in thirty minutes burns 150 calories.

Consider breast feeding, nursing burns 600 to 800 calories a day, even if all you do is sit conveniently and feed your baby, you could still be losing weight. Some fortunate women can drop all their infant fat, then some, through nursing alone. That happened to Tiffany Tinson of Bronxville, N.Y. Six months after giving birth to her very first child, Connor, Tinson had dipped to 10 pounds below her prepregnancy weight, although she was eating even more and not exercising much. “I attribute everything to breastfeeding,” she says. Be conscious that as quickly as you taper or stop off breastfeeding, or begin supplementing your child’s diet with solids, your calorie requirements will certainly plummet. You can actually pack on the weight if you don’t adjust your diet downward and/or your workout routine upward.

Lift weights and get strong.  Weightlifting is one of the best ways to build strength and speeds up your metabolism.  Instead of going to the gym – consider getting a home exercise program that specializes in women’s fitness.   One of the most popular programs available today is the Venus Factor.

The Venus Factor claims to dramatically increase female metabolism and claims that you can  drop up to 3 dress sizes inside of a week, which I know may sound far-fetched, but they have lots of testimonials from their customers so you may want to check it out.
